Never pretend to be who you are not. It doesn't take long before the truth gets revealed and you'll be left hurt with the results.

I just don't think pastors should turn their pulpits into public policy platforms. It cheapens the gospel. Our congregation doesn't need another political opinion. They need spiritual revelation. Although human beings are incapable of talking about themselves with total honesty, it is much harder to avoid the truth while pretending to be other people.
