Fatally, the term 'barbarian' is the password that opens up the archives of the twentieth century. It refers to the despiser of achievement, the vandal, the status denier, the iconoclast, who refuses to acknowledge any ranking rules or hierarchy. Whoever wishes to understand the twentieth century must always keep the barbaric factor in view. Precisely in more recent modernity, it was and still is typical to allow an alliance between barbarism and success before a large audience, initially more in the form of insensitive imperialism, and today in the costumes of that invasive vulgarity which advances into virtually all areas through the vehicle of popular culture. That the barbaric position in twentieth-century Europe was even considered the way forward among the purveyors of high culture for a time, extending to a messianism of uneducatedness, indeed the utopia of a new beginning on the clean slate of ignorance, illustrates the extent of the civilizatory crisis this continent has gone through in the last century and a half - including the cultural revolution downwards, which runs through the twentieth century in our climes and casts its shadow ahead onto the twenty-first.
Peter Sloterdijk
How often ignorance stings less than knowledge.
Janny Wurts
A great woe underpinning the sorrows of the world today is this: so many people think they are far better than others and they are too righteous than others, and they know far better than others, and such thoughts give them reasons for an otherwise action!
Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Only ignorant people think they have all the answers, intelligent people are full of doubts.
Mk.
When you are being judged by someone that has no idea who you are always remember this: Dogs always bark at strangers and usually there is always some wacko neighbor that wants to try out their new gun on an intruder.
Shannon L. Alder

Michael Bassey Johnson
The Lord is concerned about the poor receiving justice and that they are not neglected or cheated.
Sunday Adelaja
Most people do not invest their time because they do not see need to do that.
Sunday Adelaja
no people can be both ignorant and free.
Thomas Jefferson
There is always a city. There is always a civilisation. There is always a barbarian with a pickaxe. Sometimes you are the city, sometimes you are the civilisation, but to become that city, that civilisation, you once took a pickaxe and destroyed what you hated, and what you hated was what you did not understand.
Jeanette Winterson
Ignorance is the Mother of Opposition
Idries Shah
For ignorance is the first requisite of the historian──ignorance, which simplifies and clarifies, which selects and omits, with a placid perfection that unattainable by the highest art.
Lytton Strachey
I died last night. Seventy years too young.
Colin Thompson
In all his imaginings, he had never envisioned her crying. He knew that her son had died, but he'd never expected that her pain might be anything he could recognize, almost as though he believed that Negroes had their own special kind of grieving ritual, another language, something other than tears they used to express their sadness.
Bebe Moore Campbell
You see how I live: shadows and silence, leaving things as I find them because I have no reason to disturb them. But there are things that I have known, even though I never wished to know them and cannot give them a name.
Thomas Ligotti
Ungodliness has always declared war on godliness.
Sunday Adelaja
The reason why one man is great and another is not is simply because one man discovered the power of time while the other did not.
Sunday Adelaja
Life is my college. May I graduate well and earn some honors!
Louisa May Alcott
When we've got a common philosophy and a common objective; then we can advance in open order. We shall be a great team. But we've got to make sure of that common set of ideas. Maybe we shall find our formulae difficult for some of these new types. If we keep our minds open, we may find that they are right and that our formulae have to be modified. Probably -- it's a thought that shouldn't dishearten us -- but probably we don't know everything.
H.G.Wells
Racism is dead only to those who've closed their eyes and ears to the whole world around them.
DaShanne Stokes
To not know what to do during the vacations is just a proof that society and the school system has stolen your life from you.
Sunday Adelaja
It was clear to me that it wouldn't matter what I did - they would never truly appreciate me or learn what I had to offer. They were far beyond fickle - they were insensible, like kittens, predatory little things, distracted by the first bit of string or shiny bauble that rolled across the floor, and nothing I could ever say or do could possibly make any kind of dent in their willful ignorance.
Jeff Lindsay
If we’re honest, what makes something impossible is not our fear. Rather, it is our indifference.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
Some of my best friends are illusions. Been sustaining me for years.
Sheila Ballantyne
They say we live in hard times. They say the world is full of suffering and pain and ignorance and violence. But is that not better than helpless, grinned and beared mediocrity? Is this not the time of opportunity? When will we learn the importance of peace, if not in war? When will we learn the importance of loving ourselves except through self-hatred? How else will we come together except to realize how we hurt when we are apart? The world is not full of horror. It is full of opportunity. It is not lacking in love. It is hungry for it. So eat. So feed.
Vironika Tugaleva
I'm the Ted Bundy of string theory.
Sam Harris
If people in the position of power are not made to be accountable, then, ungodliness, injustice and oppression will continue to be the order of the day in the society.
Sunday Adelaja
The world does not know how to concentrate on working.
Sunday Adelaja
Nobody likes being exploited, unless they're unaware of it, and many aren't aware of it because they believe that's how life is and you can't change it.
Rius
One and all they are driven by the twin engines of ignorance and willful barbarism. You nod, you also are familiar with these two powerful components of our national character, ignorance and willful barbarianism. Yes, everywhere you turn, and even among the most gifted of us, the most extensively educated, these two brute forces of motivation will eventually emerge. The essential information is always missing; sensitivity is a mere veil to self-concern. We are all secret encouragers of ignorance, at heart we are all willful barbarians.
John Hawkes
God is helpless in our area of ignorance.
Sunday Adelaja
Fear of the unknown and the other is the root of almost all hate. It is born of ignorance and fed by those who would keep us divided.
Tinnekke Bebout
Ignoramus: a person unacquainted with certain kinds of knowledge familiar to yourself and having certain other kinds that you know nothing about.
Ambrose Bierce

Israelmore Ayivor
Look up and hook up to a life of significance and don’t look down on yourself.
Sunday Adelaja
Never take advice about never taking advice. That is an old vice of men - to dish it out without being able to take it - the blind leading the blind into more blindness.
Criss Jami
Not ignorance but ignorance of ignorance is the death of knowledge.
Alfred North Whitehead
I know no such disease of the soul, but ignorance.
Ben Johnson
Imagine walking along a sidewalk with your arms full of groceries, and someone roughly bumps into you so that you fall and your groceries are strewn over the ground. As you rise up from the puddle of broken eggs and tomato juice, you are ready to shout out, 'You idiot! What's wrong with you? Are you blind?' But just before you can catch your breath to speak, you see that the person who bumped into you is actually blind. He, too, is sprawled in the spilled groceries, and your anger vanishes in an instant, to be replaced by sympathetic concern: 'Are you hurt? Can I help you up?' Our situation is like that. When we clearly realize that the source of disharmony and misery in the world is ignorance, we can open the door of wisdom and compassion.
B. Alan Wallace
A ship with a hole underneath is doomed to sink! And ignorance is also a hole in the brain, a big hole!
Mehmet Murat ildan
Without understanding, there is no life. Either you act, out of understanding or act to develop understanding out of it.
Roshan Sharma
While ignorance might be bliss, apathy can be deadly.
Todd Stocker
Ignorance might be bliss, but it also has teeth.
Craig D. Lounsbrough
I do not approve of anything that tampers with natural ignorance. Ignorance is like a delicate exotic fruit; touch it and the bloom is gone. The whole theory of modern education is radically unsound. Fortunately in England, at any rate, education produces no effect whatsoever.
Oscar Wilde
Ah, how the seeds of cockiness blossom when soiled in ignorance.
Steve Alten
In the pursuit of wholeness, there will surely be challenges but you need to keep going.
Sunday Adelaja
To be honorable, you have to make sacrifices for others.

It would be the height of absurdity to label ignorance tempered by humility "faith"!(Institutio III.2.3)
John Calvin
To be compassionate, you have to forget your own comfort zone and live well because you live beyond yourself.
Sunday Adelaja
God is reciprocally responding to the cry of the afflicted.
Sunday Adelaja
Because you were raised by ignorant people. They taught you to use things before you understood them. To kill things before you recognized them. To hate things before you knew them. But you'll appreciate a thing better when you know where it comes from, when your hands know the shape of it.
Lila Bowen
The more deeper you think, the more silent you become. You understand the reasons behind the reason. It may not necessarily mean you are short of words. You however know what ignorance can trigger and how to deal with ignorance and purpose. The timeliness of your word is surely on point.
Ernest Agyemang Yeboah
Bandar had effortlessly converted Ratiram’s grit into the smoke rings that he blew triumphantly in the air.
Pawan Mishra

Ignorance doesn't lead to salvation, nor does knowledge pave the way to sin. - Cinda Williams Chima

But the dull and stupid masses will continue in their sluggish bustle.
Jehan Sylvius
When one considers how vast and how close to us is the problem of existence—this equivocal, tortured, fleeting, dream-like existence of ours—so vast and so close that a man no sooner discovers it than it overshadows and obscures all other problems and aims; and when one sees how all men, with few and rare exceptions, have no clear consciousness of the problem, nay, seem to be quite unaware of its presence, but busy themselves with everything rather than with this, and live on, taking no thought but for the passing day and the hardly longer span of their own personal future, either expressly discarding the problem or else over-ready to come to terms with it by adopting some system of popular metaphysics and letting it satisfy them; when, I say, one takes all this to heart, one may come to the opinion that man may be said to be a thinking being only in a very remote sense, and henceforth feel no special surprise at any trait of human thoughtlessness or folly; but know, rather, that the normal man’s intellectual range of vision does indeed extend beyond that of the brute, whose whole existence is, as it were, a continual present, with no consciousness of the past or the future, but not such an immeasurable distance as is generally supposed.
Schopenhauer
Is there innocence in ignorance? And if there is, do we tolerate other for their innocence's sake?
Claire North
That's the trouble with the world we live in, Dana. It's full of people just doing their job and ignoring what's really going on. Care about the rainforest until they get a couple of kids and enough money for a gas guzzling car, or some fancy hardwood dining furniture. Watch all those wildlife programmes and coo over the furry animals, but still eat meat and poultry that was raised in conditions of unbelievable cruelty. I'm sorry, but we live in a relatively free society. The facts are available, but people choose to ignore them. As far as I'm concerned, any educated person who works for the government or a big oil company is guilty through their own selective ignorance.
Robert Muchamore
To measure up to all that is demanded of him a man must overestimate his capacities.
Johann von Goethe
